Promoting Peace

BAWA seeks to address the underlying gender hierarchies and their relevance for shaping societal practices that propagate discrimination of women and girls.

The effects of these gender hierarchies present as inequalities between women girls and men and boys resulting in women and girls experiencing human insecurity differently from men and boys. The programme targets all the social rights of women with a strong focus on promoting gender equality at all levels, combating gender-based violence, addressing issues of education, health, HIV/Aids, among other ways in discrimination impacts on women and girls.

The expected outcomes of the program are that women and girls will realize better security and safety in their daily lives and within their households and communities, are treated more fairly, and as a result register improvement in their overall human rights.
